Luck O' The Irish: Our St. Patricks Day Paint Afternoon

What a fun afternoon we had this past St. Patrick's Day! We hosted an Irish-themed paint night at our local arts center, complete with green beer, plenty of Irish snacks, and of course, plenty of paint supplies. The event was such a hit that we had to turn away a few last-minute attendees due to space restrictions! Everyone had a great time, and we all left feeling proud of our Irish-inspired masterpieces. It was truly a paint night to remember! Read on to learn more about our St.

What We Painted
Our paint night workshop was held just a few weeks before St. Patricks Day, so we decided to go with the theme for our paintings. We had three different options for our attendees to choose from. The first option was a Highland Cow that featured a brilliant emerald green background, colorful shamrocks, and a lucky horseshoe. The second option was a simple four-leaf clover design that included a subtle yellow background and bright green clover leaves. The final option was an intricate Luck O' The Irish sign. All three of these designs allowed our attendees to show off their creative side, even if they weren't the best painters! Everyone was able to create something special that they could be proud of!

Materials Used
For our St. Patricks Day Paint Afternoon, we gathered all the necessary materials to make our door signs. We had laser cut wood pieces, a wood round, and a sample of what the door sign should look like. We provided the attendees with an array of paint brushes and paint colors so that they could have creative liberty when designing their door signs. The colors we provided included green, yellow, white, and black – all in honor of St. Patrick’s Day! To finish off our designs, we also provided glitter glue and sequins so that the participants could give their door signs some extra sparkle and shine. For refreshments and food we had catered sandwiches from a local sandwich shop in Clovis ("Subbies, Subs & More") followed by brownies, skittles, Irish cookies, chips, homemade orange & cinnamon Tea, Wine, and waters. It was definitely a fun afternoon of creating and crafting with all the supplies we had!

The Results
The results of our St. Patrick's Day Paint Afternoon were absolutely stunning! Everyone's door sign turned out perfectly and each student was very proud of the outcome. The designs that were created were full of color, texture, and pattern that could be hung proudly on any door. Students had the option of creating anything from a simple four-leaf clover to a more intricate leprechaun scene. They worked diligently for two hours and by the end of the session, every student had something to show for it.
Each student worked hard to create their individual work and everyone's project differed from the next. We were very impressed with the variety of pieces created and the level of detail each one had. The vibrant colors really popped against the white cardstock and the mix of textures created added an extra dimension to the final product. Everyone in the class was incredibly pleased with the outcome of their hard work and we were indeed proud to display all their efforts around the classroom.
At the end of the day, all 10 door signs were proudly hung up in the room for everyone to admire. The students were very proud of their creations and enjoyed seeing their work displayed in the room. It was an absolute pleasure to see everyone's hard work come to life in such beautiful and unique designs.
All in all, our St. Patrick's Day Paint Afternoon was a huge success! We hope you enjoy looking at all the masterpieces created by our talented students. And we hope to see you at our next event which is posted up above!
